8/27 - Afternoon update

 Dad was moved out of the ICU into a regular room last night around 9:00pm. He is now in 3 West room 320 if you are in the area and want to pop in for a visit. His ICU night nurse, Katie, was very sad to see him go (happy for him, sad for her), she wanted to keep him! We totally get it Katie!!! He's a keeper!

Speaking of visits, Ezra (grandson) surprised dad with a visit today, he stayed for about 45 minutes visiting and catching up while Dad ate his supper (pizza tonight). Ezra had texted me earlier today and said he works very close to the hospital so he was going to swing by the hospital after work. 

Like the zipper?!?! Dad says it's held together by super glue, I said "well that's better than duct tape!!" He still has 2 ports in his hands, but all the other 'wires and things' are gone. The doctor came in to see him this morning and said he was looking really good. No news yet on when they will be sending him home. They still have to help him a bit when he goes to stand up. He needs a little help getting into the sitting position with no arms, then he hugs the pillow and rocks a bit to stand up. Good news is his bed at home is an adjustable one so it will help him with the sitting up part once he goes home.
