Home again, home again, jiggety-jig!
TAA-DAA!!!!
Well, there you have it! Daddy is home and enjoying his nice clean house and carpets!
After a shower and a final EKG early this afternoon, dad was discharged into Marion's care. His top priority upon discharge was going to visit mom, so they stopped there before grabbing some lunch at Subway and heading home. Mom was happy to see him and kicked Marion out of the room so she could have dad to herself! 😊
I have not talked to him yet today (he was sleeping when I called), Marion said that he is doing well, but very tired.
Dad is just as excited to have visitors as you all are to visit, however, we (his 'overprotective' children) are asking that friends hold off on visits until Monday. This will give him a chance to settle in and get used to his "new normal" at home. We want to make sure that you get quality visiting time and don't end up watching him nap!
Have no fear though, he will not be lonely this weekend, the local grandsons are planning to come on Saturday and "gussy-up" his yard with some mowing and landscaping. This will give all you lovely visitors yet another pleasant place to visit on nice days (and dad can walk around outside for his daily exercise). He is also hoping that he will feel up to going to church on Sunday. If he does, that will help him and Marion gauge his tolerance for outings and socializing at this point. Obviously, the more time that passes the better he will feel and the more endurance he will have. We all know Dad, he will never turn away a visit from a friend, even when he is feeling tired.
The other thing we ask is that you please check dad's "social calendar" (😂) before stopping by so that you can see who is visiting and when. This will ensure that dad does not have 15 visitors on one day and then no one on other days. You can do this by using the link on the upper left of the blog (the log-in code is above the link). We have put visitor sign ups and meal sign ups and will be adding other things as they come up. We will also be 'fine tuning' the times as appointments and things come up.
Once again we thank you all for the love and support you are sending dad! He is a treasure we want to keep around for a long time (sorry hospital staff, we know you love him, but he's ours!!)
